The grit bristles are Silicon Carbide and the same bristles used by street sweepers. The PBT (Polybutylene) bristles are all purpose and stronger than the standard PP bristles used in the pool industry. Together, the Spartan Combo Brush combines best of both worlds. The Pebble "Grit" bristles do not rust or poke like stainless steel. They are thicker and longer lasting
